In addition to our own proprietary solutions, we develop, own, and operate telecommunications towers, rooftops, Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) and Small Cells for mobile network operators.

José Stella is Co-CEO and Founder of QMC Telecom. Previously he was President and Co-founder of VIU Media, the largest outdoor advertising firm in Puerto Rico, until the company’s sale in 2006 to Lamar Advertising. Previous work experience includes Chase Manhattan Bank, Banco Popular and UBS in Zurich. He graduated com laude from Babson College with a major in Finance, Investment and Economics and has an MBA from the University of Michigan.
Rafael Somoza is Co-CEO and Founder of QMC Telecom. Previously he was CEO and Co-founder of VIU Media, the largest outdoor advertising firm in Puerto Rico, until the company’s sale in 2006 to Lamar Advertising. Previous work experience includes Chase Manhattan Bank and CS First Boston. He graduated magna cum laude from Yale College with BA in Economics and Political Science and has an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
John Georges is a partner at QMC and leads the company’s DAS and Small Cell efforts. Previously, John co-founded and acted as CEO and then Chairman of NextG Networks until its sale to Crown Castle for $1B in 2012. John also co-founded and was President and CTO of LGC Wireless, a telecom equipment manufacturer successfully sold to ADC Telecom. John has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from University of California at Berkeley.
Ricardo Zubieta is CFO of QMC Telecom. Previously, he spent 20 years in investment banking, advising a broad range of technology, media and telecommunications clients on mergers and acquisitions, financing and stock offerings. Most recently, he was Managing Officer at Barclays Global Technology, Media and Telecom Group, where he was Head of M&A Mergers and Acquisitions. Ricardo began his career in Communications and Media Group at Lehman Brothers.
Aurelio Emanuelli is the General Counsel of QMC Telecom International Holdings, LLC. Bobby has been a partner for more than twenty years in law firms in Puerto Rico, focusing on financial transactions, regulatory and securities affairs, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and other general corporate issues. Bobby holds a bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, in History from Yale College and Juris Doctor from Yale Law School.
Andre Machado is President of QMC Telecom in Brazil. Previously he was Vice President and a member of the executive management team for Huawei and Ericsson Brazil. He has over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry and has been in senior management positions for the past 11 years. André graduated in Electrical Engineering from Universidade Mackenzie and holds complementary business management courses from the London Business School and the Indian School of Business (ISB).
Luiza Bet is President of QMC Telecom in Mexico. Previously, she was DAS operations director in Latin America and responsible for QMC Telecom operations in Brazil, Mexico and Colombia. Prior to joining QMC Telecom, she worked at A.T. Kearney and was a strategic consultant for VIVO & NET in Brazil in important telecommunications projects. Luiza holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Fundacao Getulio Vargas, Sao Paulo, Brazil and completed her MBA at Stanford University.
Julio Otalora is President of QMC Telecom in Colombia. Julio has more than 19 years of professional experience working for multinational telecommunications and technology companies in Colombia and the United States. Throughout his professional career, he has led Lucent Technologies, Motorola, Adobe and Apple as Country Manager. Julio holds an Industrial Engineering degree from Pontificia Univesidad Javerina and an MBA from Thunderbird Graduate School (ASU) in Phoenix, Arizona.
William N. Thorndike, Jr. founded Housatonic Partners in Boston in 1994 and has been Managing Director since that time. Prior to that, Mr. Thorndike worked with T. Rowe Price Associates and Walker & Company where he was named to the Board of Directors. Mr. Thorndike is a graduate of Harvard College and the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
John Locke joined Accel in 2009 and helps lead the firm’s growth fund. John is the lead investor and board member in SeatGeek, GoFundMe, Lightspeed, Wyzant, Invoice2Go, Pond5 and QMC Telecom. John grew up in Ashland, Ohio and graduated from Princeton.
Gerald Risk most recently served as Vice Chairman of Asurion, the world’s largest provider of technology protection services. Before joining Asurion, Gerald was an investment banker with Goldman, Sachs & Co. Gerald holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce with honors from Queen’s University in Canada.
Mark Hilderbrand has been a Managing Director at Housatonic Partners since 2006. Prior to Housatonic, he was a General Partner at Onset Ventures and a Vice President at Summit Partners. Earlier in his career, he worked as a management consultant at Bain & Company. Mr. Hilderbrand holds a BS from Boston University, a MS from Stanford University, and a MBA from the Harvard Business School.
Arthur Patterson has helped management teams develop companies into market-defining leaders for five decades. Arthur currently serves on the boards of several private companies including: Centrify, Integral Development, IronPlanet, Krux Digital, NewlineNoosh and Poplicus. Prior to co-founding Accel, Arthur was a general partner of Adler & Company. His career in venture capital began at Citicorp Venture Capital. Arthur graduated from Harvard and lives in San Francisco with his wife and their four children.
Chris Torto is the CEO/founder of Ascenty, a leading data center company in Brazil. Prior to that, Chris was the founder and CEO of Vivax, the second largest cable TV company in Brazil started in 1995 and acquired by NET Serviços in 2007. He was also CEO of Voyager Inc., an internet company that went public in 1999 (acquired by a U.S. telecom group in 2000). Chris holds a BA in business administration from the University of Maine and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
One of the pillars of the QMC Way, or the QMC Telecom’s non-negotiables in the way we operate and work, is that all of our actions with all of our constituents are guided by uncompromising ethical standards. To assist and guide us in this manner, our Board of Directors has adopted and our team has implemented a Code of Ethics and Business Conduct Policy (the “Code”) that is applicable to all directors, officers, employees and agents of QMC Telecom and its subsidiaries. As specified in the Code, all of our team members must conduct themselves with the highest degree of honesty, integrity and ethics and within the confines of the law when acting on behalf of QMC Telecom.
As part of the Code, our Board of Directors has adopted an Anti-Corruption Policy that is also applicable to all directors, officers, employees and agents of QMC Telecom and its subsidiaries. It is our policy to comply with all applicable requirements of the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and the applicable anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws of the countries in which we operate. QMC Telecom is committed at all levels of the company to a principle of zero tolerance in all anti-corruption and anti-bribery matters. We have established an Ethics Committee that is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Code and the Anti-Corruption Policy and for resolving all matters that may arise under the Code and the Anti-Corruption Policy.
